When we talk about the first stage of marble processing with the factory premises, the processing involves cutting the rough blocks into 2 to 3 cm thick slabs. The same process is done by using gang saws, wire saws and circular saws. At a full-fledged marble factory, marble engineers slice large blocks into slabs of varying sizes (250-300 x 150-200 cm gangsaw slab). All large gangsaw slabs can also be split into smaller slabs (180-200 x 50-70 cm cutter slab) using specialized cutters and cutting machines. These stone sizes are not fixed. Customers can also demand slabs in specific sizes, suiting their individual needs directly.
These giant slabs can be used for making floor tiles, steps, risers, bathtub surrounds, kitchen countertops, vanity tops, work tops, and shower wall covers. When it comes to the quality aspect, factors of size, thickness, finish and edge profile are considered by a reputed Indian marble manufacturing factory.
